Actonel and Osteoporosis
Actonel for Osteoporosis
Actonel is a prescription medication that protect bones by blocking the cells that cause the loss of bone mass and, subsequently Osteoporosis. It also works to build backbone density and help protect against fractures.
Taking Actonel along with Calcium is more effective against Osteoporosis than taking calcium alone.
You should not take Actonel if you have low blood calcium, weak kidneys, or cannot stand or sit upright for 30 minutes. Stop taking Actonel and contact your doctor if you experience difficult or painful swallowing, chest pain, or severe or continuing heartburn.
Side effects include back, muscle, bone or joint pain, stomach pain or upset, or constipation.
